Call for Nominations

The Alumni Association is now accepting nominations for board member positions. Established in 2009, the 12-member Alumni Association board represents the more than 35,000 VIU, Malaspina and Vocational Trade School alumni through leadership, advocacy and service. Successful candidates will serve a two year term from September 2012 to September 2014. Alumni must nominate a candidate or self-nominate by 4pm on April 1, 2012.

Please include the following with your nomination:

· A short bio of yourself or the candidate

· A statement of interest (why the candidate would like to be considered for a board position)

VIU's Alumni Association is focused on establishing a strong, vibrant, network of graduates.

Mission Statement

The Vancouver Island University Alumni Association is dedicated to building lifelong relationships with current and future alumni that celebrate, engage and connect our alumni while advancing the mission and goals of Vancouver Island University.

Vision Statement

The Vancouver Island University Alumni Association (VIUAA) connects alumni and students in order to enhance the ability of the university to offer a world class educational experience.

The VIUAA will be characterized by the following:

  • a broad and global base of alumni participation and support
  • high quality programs and services for alumni
  • a vibrant alumni association led by a strong, diverse group of alumni leaders, working in partnership with a professional and customer-service-oriented alumni relations staff and working to promote the strategic goals of the University
