Events

As a bridge between the community and Vancouver Island University, the University Foundation hosts three public events each year.

The annual Business Breakfast is held in the spring and showcases students from different program areas and raises money in support of VIU students.

The Festival of Trees in late November and early December illuminates the Vancouver Island Conference Centre with Christmas trees and decorations. A program of ticketed events and public open days brings nearly 3,000 visitors to the Festival, and raises valuable funds for VIU students.

The Charity Golf Classic|Vancouver Island University (VIU) has been a long time tradition in the community. Fairwinds Golf Club hosts the golf event with an silent auction and dinner following in the club house.

Corporate partners and community groups also organize their own fundraising events on behalf of the university.
