How to Create a New Moodle Account & Enroll in a Moodle Course

1. Check Your System

If you have not already done so, let's ensure your internet browser is configured properly and that you have all the necessary software in place to complete your online course!

Click here to access a web page that will automatically check your computer, the following:

A Green ✔ on the system requirements screen will indicate a specific requirement is OK.

A Red ✖ on the requirements screen will indicate you need to adjust internet settings or download some necessary software by following the directions presented on the screen.

3. Log into Moodle

Returning to Moodle?

If you currently have a Moodle login, feel free to use your current Username and Password.

New to Moodle?

If you are new to Moodle, please follow the instructions below.

• Under "Username" and "Password" enter your Discovery account information (the same account you log into VIU computers with).
• If you are new to VIU or have forgotten your Discovery password information, visit this web page.

UNDER COURSES CATEGORIES, CLICK THE APPROPRIATE CATEGORY

Find the appropriate course link (your section number)

When prompted, type the enrolment key provided by your instructor in the textbox, then click the Enroll me in this course button.

You need to follow this enrolment procedure, only once per course in which you are registered
