Doors are opening for students on Penelakut Island, after the tribe’s adult learning centre signed an agreement with Vancouver Island University.
Representatives from the Penelakut Island Adult Learning Centre and VIU signed an articulation agreement Tuesday at the university’s Nanaimo Campus. Students have the opportunity to shop at Fairway Market for groceries, London Drugs, Zellers, Target, Best Buy and more!If you want to stay past the allotted time to take in a movie or hang out, you will be responsible for finding your own transportation home. First Run - leaves Residence at 1pm sharp, returns by 2:30pm Second Run - leaves Residence at 3pm sharp, returns by 4:30pm If interest is high we may add a third run, but I will let you know right away

Open Mic Night happens every Thursday night during the Fall and Spring semesters. Come to listen, or come to play! Everyone is welcome! Open Mic starts around 9pm, and goes until midnight. Must be at least 19 years of age and have 2 pieces of government issued ID.
