Orientation 2012

Start your University Career off on the right foot! All new University students are urged to participate in VIU’s New Student Orientation Program on Thursday, August 30, 2012. Orientation is a great way for first-year students to meet classmates, faculty and staff, while being introduced to a full-range of available campus life activities and resources.

As well, we want to ensure that parents/guardians have the information needed to support their student in making important academic and life choices.

  • New Student Orientation Itinerary and information package pick up begins 20 minutes prior to the start of each session in the Royal Bank Plaza
  • Fun and personalized campus tour that will allow you to become more familiar with VIU and the buildings you will be spending time in
  • Opportunity to meet other students and faculty from your area of study
  • Live DJ and entertainment
  • Interactive and engaging Info Fair
  • Fun games and activities throughout the day

  • Pay your tuition, purchase textbooks and supplies, buy snacks, or get yourself some brand-new VIU wear

Parking

Parking in Lots A,B,C,E,U,S will be COMPLIMENTARY on August 30, 2012 for students and parents. Typically, pay parking is in effect 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including evenings and weekends at the Nanaimo Campus. Cowichan Campus

Meet the Welcome Centre at Cowichan Campus.

What to expect

  • New Student Orientation is open for new students in all programs at Cowichan campus
  • Itinerary and information package pick up begins 10 minutes prior at the Welcome Centre
  • Fun and personalized campus tour that will allow you to become more familiar with VIU, Cowichan campus
  • Opportunity to meet other students and faculty from your area of study
  • Interactive and engaging Info Fair
  • Pay your tuition, purchase textbooks and supplies, get your student photo ID card, or get yourself some brand-new VIU wear
  • Free BBQ lunch to follow

Parking

  • Parking is free at VIU’s Cowichan Campus.
